Chief Jason Jones

Chief Jason A.  Jones was appointed as Centerville’s Chief of Fire Services on September 15, 2009. 

Chief Jones is a graduate of Warner Robins High School and attended college at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) studying Forestry Management. Currently, he is enrolled at West Georgia Technical College pursuing a degree in Fire Science. 

Chief Jones began his firefighting career in 1998 with the Centerville Fire Department.  Chief Jones has held the rank of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Fire Chief and has served as Interim Fire Chief during the absence of a full time Chief.  

Some of his professional accomplishments include Certified Fire Investigator, Instructor, Inspector, Technical Rescue Specialist, Hazardous Materials Technician, Confined Space Technician, High Angle Rescue Technician, Trench Rescue Technician, Building Collapse Technician, First Responder/EMT Certified, Child Safety Seat Technician, and the 2004 Firefighter of the Year. 

While serving the citizens of Centerville, Chief Jones has completed all of the necessary training requirements to become a member of the Georgia Search and Rescue (GSAR) Team. In 2005, Chief Jones responded with the GSAR Team during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana to conduct search and rescue missions.  He has also participated in many other emergency situations with the GSAR team and is still an active member of the team.
