The Centerville Fire Department (CFD) offers a wide range of services to the citizens of Centerville.
Emergencies. In addition to fire emergencies, the CFD responds to medical and rescue emergencies to include:
- Vehicle accidents
- Medical calls
- Other types of rescue emergencies
Inspections. The CFD provides fire and life safety inspections of local businesses as well as pre-plans of businesses.
Fire Hydrants. CFD personnel check the City's fire hydrants on a regular basis to insure the hydrants are in proper working order and ready for immediate use. In addition, CFD personnel conduct:
- Fire hydrant maintenance annually
- Water flow tests annually
- Conduct fire safety education visits to all local day-care centers
- Conduct fire station tours for all types of groups, to include Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, schools, and day-care centers
- Support national Fire Safety Week each October by conducting public fire safety education at the Galleria Mall
- Provide education programs for local civic groups
- Three CFD personnel are certified technicians trained to educate people on the proper installation of their children’s car safety seats
- Installations can be done at the fire station daily from 8 AM to 4 PM
Blood Pressure Checks. Citizens can stop by the fire station almost any time to receive a free blood pressure check.
Smoke Detector Program. The CFD has a free smoke detector program.
- CFD will provide up to two free smoke detectors for citizens of Centerville that need them
- CFD personnel will install the smoke detectors, if necessary
